FULL: Genealogy Foundations 5
1:30 pm to 4:30 pm
PLCH Main Library, 3rd Floor Computer Lab
This class is now FULL. If you would like to attend and bring your own laptop, please preregister at https://goo.gl/PBuaPg, or email Liz Stratton at Education@hcgsohio.org. Space is limited.
The new Genealogy Foundations Series is designed for those who are just getting started or looking to fill gaps in knowledge. This multi-class series lays the groundwork for tracing your ancestry. Participants will work on their own family history in these hands-on sessions. Key resources for nineteenth and twentieth century research will be covered—newspapers, censuses, published sources, vital records. Along the way explore search strategies and name variants, learn to estimate dates and identify places, use records as stepping stones to further research, and discover ways to organize research.
For best results, plan on attending all sessions. Space is limited and preregistration is required. Register online using the form at https://goo.gl/PBuaPg, or email Liz Stratton at Education@hcgsohio.org. All classes are held on Saturdays at PLCH Main Library in the 3rd floor computer lab:
